Présentation
Tech Policy Press is a nonprofit media and community venture focused on the intersection of technology and democracy. At a time of great challenge to democracies globally, we seek to advance a pro-democracy movement in tech and tech policy through independent journalism, expert analysis, and public discussion.
Tech Policy Press is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization incorporated in Texas as Protego Press, its earlier iteration. Its initial funding came primarily through contributions from its founders—Justin Hendrix and Bryan Jones—and small donations from individuals.
Tech Policy Press retains full authority over its editorial content. Editorial judgments are made independently and not on the basis of donor support. Acceptance of grants and donations does not constitute implied or actual endorsement of grantors or donors, or of their products, services or opinions. We occasionally publish contributions from individuals affiliated with organizations that share funders with this publication; editorial decisions are made independently of these relationships.
In 2024, Tech Policy Press received grants from Reset.tech, the MacArthur Foundation, the John S. and James L.
